Lobbyists Registry Tips

Follow these handy tips to help you navigate registration processes.

Account

Application Approval – It’s Not Automatic

When you complete the application process for a new registry account, you will see an on-screen confirmation message. However, it is important to know that application processing is not automatic. Each application is reviewed by the Office, and this may result in a short waiting period before you can move to the next step.

After the application has been reviewed and processed, you will receive an acknowledgement email. You will then be able to complete the remaining steps: certification, account activation and selecting a password and security question answers. Once these steps are completed, you will be able to file a registration.

Filing Registrations

Initial (new) registrations - Reset to Draft

If you file an initial registration and you receive an email from Office staff asking for additional information, the registration will usually be reset to draft so you can amend it. When this happens, it is important that you amend and resubmit the same version that was reset to draft.

Do not start or file a new registration.

To make changes to your original registration, go to the “I would like to…” menu page, select “View my drafts” and open the draft initial registration. Make the necessary amendments and then select “Submit”.

Renewing or filing a change to existing registrations – It's Also Not Automatic

If you have filed a renewal or made a change to a registration, you must wait until the registration has been reviewed and published by the Office before you can make any further changes. If you take any additional action before the registration is published, it could create an issue with the order in which the updated information appears in your registration.

If you submit a change or a renewal and realize that you missed something, you can contact our Office for assistance.

Otherwise, just wait for your registration to be published. Once you receive an acknowledgment email, then you can submit new updates.

You can check the status of your submitted registration by going to the “I would like to…” menu page and selecting “View my registrations”.

Security

Temporary Passwords – They're Case-Sensitive

If you forget your password, use the “Forgotten Password” process to receive a temporary password by email. Check your junk or spam folder if you do not receive an email.

When logging in, it is important to remember that temporary passwords are case-sensitive.

Once you are logged in, go to the Security heading to change your temporary password.

Security Questions – If You Forget, We Can Help

If you forget your security question responses, contact the Office for assistance. You will be provided with a temporary response to use with your existing password.

Once you are logged in, you must go to the Security heading and change your security question responses.

Remember, security question responses are also case-sensitive.

Navigation

Zooming in and out

In some sections of the registration form, particularly for pop-up picklists, you may be unable to see all the options or to access the “Close” and “Submit” buttons. You can fix this by adjusting the zoom settings on your screen: hold the Ctrl button while clicking the minus (–) button on your keyboard.

Session timed out

Your session on the registry may time out after a period of inactivity.

To make sure you are logged in, check the top right corner of your screen for your full name. If you don’t see your name, you need to log in again.
